9.45am - 4.30pm
Tutor: Sue Pearl

£80
Eco dyeing or printing is a fascinating way of transferring the colours and patterns of flowers and leaves onto textiles, with astonishingly beautiful results. You will be amazed at the effects you can get from the most mundane of plants, using this direct contact printing method. This is not a vegetable dyeing course but an exploration into the surprising and delighting effects that can be achieved by wrapping plants in cloth. We will use flowers and leaves from our own gardens, the school garden and surrounding countryside. The course has been arranged to coincide with when the plants are in full of vigor. Book a place and plan your foraging!

Wednesday 24th May 2017
9.45am - 4.30pm
Tutor: Amanda Hislop

£80
An experimental sketchbook can be a springboard for future creativity or simply enjoyed in its own right as a journal of observations and techniques. On this course we will create rich and expressive sketchbook pages by generating ideas using mixed media. We will explore the creative potential of line, colour and texture while experimenting with mark-making, layering and collage. These ideas can then be extended by simplifying, abstracting and fragmenting images.
