Calligraphy Illumination - Working with Colour and Gold

Learn the art of decoration and illumination using gilding techniques and real gold. Create a single initial letter to enhance your calligraphy or design a small miniature with vibrant colour and gold that can be placed in a frame. The tutor is a calligrapher with more than 30 years’ teaching experience and author of a number of calligraphy books, including two on illumination.

Stained Glass Tea Lights for Christmas

Stained glass looks stunning when illuminated with candle light and makes the perfect ornament for your Christmas table or window. Make a tea light holder from coloured glass, based on your own design or on one provided by the tutor. You will learn copper foiling technique which allows you to work with more intricate and delicate designs than are possible in lead. There will be a large selection of stained glass to choose from. The tutor is a professional stained glass artist and experienced teacher.

Join Sue Pearl, author of Making Felted Friends, to create a 3D needle-felted Reindeer, Robin or Penguin to decorate your tree or home this Christmas. Your Felt creation will be made from fine Scandinavian wool. Sue will show you how to create different poses and expressions to give the fun animals character. Dry felting - or needle felting – is a simple process in which you create 3D shapes using wool and a barbed needle (none of that messy wet wool business!).
