Enjoy a day experimenting with print on textiles by layering additional colours and textures onto prints with inks and making additional marks with free machine embroidery and hand embroidery embellishment.

If you are a beginner or have been on previous printing courses you will enjoy this day learning additional print making skills to create special compositions and home furnishings. By layering multiple images and stitch marks you will create original pieces of art and ensure your compositions come to life with added texture and colour. We will be using screenprinting, transfer printing and relief printing blocks and Victoria will have two sewing machines set up to make further marks along with a variety of threads and needles to add excitement to your work.

This course is designed for a range of abilities including beginners


Materials are not included in your course fee.

Some materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £5-10, payable to the tutor during the course. 

The tutor is unable to take card payments for materials. Please remember to bring cash or your cheque book if your course involves buying materials from the tutor.

We advise that you do not buy any materials required for a course more than two weeks in advance, because occasionally a course is cancelled due to low enrolment.

Images you wish to use although the tutor has a range

particular fabric you may which to print (fabric is available to purchase and there are plenty of scrap fabrics to experiment with.)

An apron (and wear old clothing)

a notebook/sketchbook and pencils.


Tutor Profile

Victoria Squires has worked for several years in the fashion and interior business selling her clothing and giftware to Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Macy’s and numerous local shops. She has a wealth of knowledge in the construction of clothing and accessories and has been teaching Art and Design for over eighteen years.  Victoria has a BA hons in Arts Management and has a City and Guild certificate in teaching adults.  She is also a regular exhibitor in Art Weeks and has shown her work in exhibitions across the country.

Timings & Refreshments

The course starts at 10am and finishes at 4.30pm. Please aim to arrive between 9.30 and 9.45am to allow for a 10am start. Fresh ground coffee and a range of teas are provided all day, along with homemade cookies in the morning, complimentary sandwich lunch and cake in the afternoon. ​As peoples' allergies, intolerances, special diets and preferences are so many and varied, we are not able to cater for these. However, we will be able to cater for a gluten free diet so please tell us on arrival
