Sharmina Haq

Profile

Sharmina Haq is an experienced visual artist. With a mathematical background she has a keen interest in the study of geometric principles and design features of traditional Islamic patterns, involving geometric proportion analysis and has lead workshops this area.

Sharmina has undertaken international Islamic art study in Granada, Istanbul and Morocco and studied at the Princes School of Traditional Arts in London.

She is inspired by travels to Morocco, Turkey and the Middle East and to India and the Far East.

She has developed her own style in watercolours and traditional illuminated artwork.  Alongside her art, Sharmina is a keen advocate for the revival of traditional Islamic arts and methods.  Sharmina has undertaken international commissions and her work has a wide following, some of her pieces can be seen on her Instagram account at https://www.instagram.com/sharmina.haq/?hl=en
