Summary

A delightful introduction to the world of sculpting in willow. Create your own unique pig to grace your home or garden. You will gain knowledge, experience and confidence in handling willow as a sculpting medium.

Creating the main body of the pig will teach you many of the skills needed to go it alone in the world of willow sculpting. All the add-ons such as the legs, nose, ears and tail will which teach further new skills.

Materials

Materials are not included in your course fee. All materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £15, payable to the tutor during the course.

We do not have the facilities to take card payments in the workshops. Please remember to bring cash or your cheque book if your course involves buying materials from the tutor.

Please bring with you:

wear old clothing, as it might be snagged by buds on the willow.

Tutor Profile

Linda Rees has been making willow baskets and sculptures for more than 20 years and teaching for more than 15. She finds teaching a delight as no two items are ever the same. Having learned her art form from many other skilled basketmakers (including Norah Kennedy), she enjoys passing on her sculpting skills to others. Linda is a member of the Basketmakers’ Association.

Timings & Refreshments

Coffee is available from 9.45am. The course starts at 10am and finishes at 4.30pm. Fresh ground coffee and a range of teas are provided all day, along with biscuits in the morning, a sandwich lunch and cake in the afternoon.
