The pointed pen is enjoying a come-back in calligraphic circles, and here we’ll explore its potential for sharpened Italic forms, which can be varied from formal to free.
The pointed pen uses variations of pressure to create thick or thin lines, well-known in Copperplate writing, unlike the broad-edged pen; here we can exploit this feature in a variety of Italic-based lettering versions.
Mary will guide you through both lower case and capitals during this two-hour class.
